As the Superintendent of the Fairfield City School System, I would like to welcome you to our webpage and encourage you to take a look at the information offered on this site. In this historical year, I am indeed pleased and proud to be a part of the greatest challenges of educational reforms and progress that our country has ever witnessed. In his inaugural address President Barack H. Obama stated, "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real, they are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this America: They will be met.”
As our country welcomes a new leader, President Barack H. Obama, we in education face challenges that are real, serious and vast. These challenges in education are in the areas of budget stabilization, graduation rate, parental involvement, student apathy, proration, student achievement, dropout rate, and moral decline.
Proration, and its inherent challenges, is historically difficult for all subjects and areas involved. Yet, we will not be conquered nor compromised in our belief in quality education. We know that we will meet these challenges. We, as educational leaders, must preserve the integrity of education. It should be our passion in life to improve the lives of the students that we are privileged to teach. We should never cease to search for new ways and methods to motivate and mold the young minds entrusted to our care and instruction.
Our success will rely on results from the preparation, dedication, and teamwork of our administrators, teachers, support personnel, and parents. We cannot solve the problems that exist in education alone. Partnerships with parents and the community are also keys to help students in the Fairfield City School System achieve their full potential. We must provide an environment that not only is inviting, but also cultivates maximum student potential. We must continue to strive to give every child an opportunity to succeed in a safe, nurturing environment. I commit to you and to the entire school community, to work tirelessly on behalf of the children and always with their best interests at heart. I am proud to serve as the Superintendent of a professional learning community that strives for excellence in all that we do.
