Superintendent’s Vision (2007-2010)
Together, we envision a school system that is the leader in student achievement, culturally enriched, and a vessel for lifelong learning for our students, teachers, administrators, staff and community. We are committed to empowering all members of our school system with the ability to strive for excellence and achieve their individual best to become major contributors of the society. Fairfield City School will provide a world class education for all students and become one of the top twenty school systems in the state of Alabama.

The Strategic Plan
Develop effective strategies for creating a culture of excellence by developing high expectations and accountability by organizing the school system around instruction, student achievement, performance, and accountability in every area of education.
Three year (2007-2010) District Goals / Priorities
Goal 1: The school system will establish high academic standards and expectations that will result in academic achievement from all students, as well as integrate the necessary technological skills to compete in a global society.
Goal 2: The school system will stabilize its finances.
Goal 3: The school system will increase graduation rate and decrease student failure rate as well as provide programs that will train parents, teachers and students in addressing academics, health and wellness, and social and emotional needs.
Goal 4: The school system will provide a safe, clean, and accessible learning environment.
FAIRFIELD CITY SCHOOLS
System-wide Accomplishments 2007 -2009
- The Fairfield City Schools are fully accredited.
- The school system continues to make Annual Measureable Objectives Required by NCLB.
- All faculty and staff in the Fairfield City School System participate in highly qualified and effective professional development activities sanctioned by the NCLB program.
- The Fairfield City Schools are safe and orderly.
- The Fairfield City School System has 4.5 months in reserve.
- The school system is continuing capital improvement project to enhance the school system’s facilities, such as the roofing project where all roofs are being renovated or replaced at all schools and the board building.
- The school system received AYP recognition by the State of Alabama.
- All elementary schools received AYP recognition by the State of Alabama.
- Glen Oaks Elementary School’s fourth grade made one of the highest SAT scores in the state.
- 83% of Robinson Elementary School’s fifth grade students met or exceeded the standards on the Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing.
- The middle school received AYP recognition by the state of Alabama
- The middle school received a grant to participate in the Middle Schools That Work Initiative.
- The high school received a grant to participate in the High Schools That Work Initiative.
- Glen Oaks Elementary School and Fairfield High Preparatory School are members of the AMSTI Program.
- Fairfield High Preparatory School received three million dollars in scholarship money.
- Due to the enhancement of the technology program – all teachers have laptop computers, interactive boards and LCD projectors.
- The school system has utilized 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS on technology system-wide
- All teachers have telecommunication in the classroom.
- The School System received its first 21st Century Grant for $199,000.00
- The Fairfield High Preparatory School is a ACT Testing Site
